Rota Vicentina

The Rota Vicentina (Fishermen’s Trail), offers about 224 km/139 mi of continuously stunning coastal scenery along the wild southwestern Atlantic coast of Portugal, stretching from Porto Covo to Lagos.

The trail alternates between craggy cliffs, sandy beaches, and inland forests, and it occasionally leads past sea grottoes and picturesque seaside towns and villages.   During certain months of the year, Portugal experiences some of the highest waves in the world, and surfers can be seen frequenting many of the beaches.
